LE System’s Power Conditioning System Obtains German VDE Prototype Certification
We are pleased to announce that the “LE-FEBS Model 500” power conditioning system developed by LE System has obtained prototype certification under the German VDE standards.
A power conditioning system (PCS) is an essential component for grid connection, responsible for controlling and converting electricity charged to and discharged from energy storage batteries. The “LE-FEBS Model 500,” our proprietary product, was specifically developed for Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries (“VRFBs”).
The VDE certification obtained this time is based on the safety and quality standards established by the Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies (VDE) in Germany, and primarily evaluates the safety and reliability of electrical and electronic products.
VDE certification is granted only to products that pass rigorous safety tests, including protection against electric shock and fire hazards, and it is highly recognized and trusted throughout the European market.
According to our research, our group’s product is the first VRFB power conditioning system in Germany to obtain VDE certification.
In Europe, against the backdrop of increasing renewable energy adoption, initiatives integrating “renewable energy + energy storage + grid reinforcement” are rapidly advancing. In particular, as demand grows for long-duration energy storage and power grid stabilization, expectations for VRFBs — known for their long lifespan and high level of safety — are rising significantly.
Furthermore, as concerns continue to grow regarding the safety, resource constraints, and environmental impact associated with lithium-ion batteries, VRFBs are attracting attention as a promising next-generation large-scale energy storage solution, with significant market expansion anticipated in the future.
Leveraging this certification as a key milestone, our group will further promote the expansion of VRFB-related businesses in the European market, including Germany, while also accelerating the deployment of energy storage systems centered on VRFB electrolyte solutions.
